Meet the Tru-D iQ system – the newest disinfection technology that’s here to help ensure our facility is as clean as possible for our patients, visitors and caregivers. San Juan Regional Medical Center is the first hospital in New Mexico to acquire the Tru-D iQ system to clean patient rooms and larger, common spaces such as the Emergency Department. It works by generating UVC light energy that inactivates unwanted microorganisms.
“The investment in this innovative technology is simply another way that we’re working to ensure our facility’s environment is as clean as possible,” said Jason Rounds, President and CEO of San Juan Regional Medical Center. “The iQ system complements the outstanding work that our Environmental Services team does on a daily basis.”
Our Environmental Services staff will still thoroughly clean each room; the disinfection robot is an added layer of defense against microorganisms that may linger behind after traditional cleaning.
“Our Environmental Services staff work 24 hours a day to ensure a safe, clean environment for our patients,” said Utahna Ortiz, Manager of Environmental Services and Laundry. “They are excited to utilize this new technology as an additional way to safeguard the well-being of every single person who walks through our doors while executing faster turnaround times to make sure patients get the quality care they need.”
