This class is designed to help prepare a mother for giving birth without medicinally based pain interventions during labor and delivery. This class should be taken in the second trimester or early in the third trimester but is open to moms at any stage during their pregnancy. The class covers the physical and mental preparation that should go into having a natural childbirth to make the process productive and meaningful. Moms and their partners learn an extensive assortment of strategies that can be used to cope with the pain associated with labor and delivery and to help them stay focused on their goal of a natural childbirth. This class requires a partner and is intended for mom to take with her labor partner so they can learn the strategies together. Moms should dress comfortably and be ready to do the various exercises. This class can be taken as a stand alone or in conjunction with any of our other childbirth education classes. Please do NOT sign up for this class within 3 weeks of your due date or if you have complications that prevent you from being able to participate.
