This 5 day “Boot Camp” is designed to address all the unique challenges faced by pregnant teens, ages 13 to 19 in a concentrated format. This course will cover what to expect during each trimester of the pregnancy, self-care and nutrition needs for a pregnant teen, what happens during the childbirth and delivery process, what happens during the postpartum period, breastfeeding and infant care. It will also address unique issues such as finishing school while facing the challenges of being a young parent. Teens are welcome to bring a partner, such the baby’s father, a parent or a friend, as a support person who will be with them through the process. Class is restricted to 5 teens and their support person. If a teen needs to bring an extra person, in addition to their support person, please register that person individually.
This will be the spring offering for this course. March 13 - March 17 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.
