Hospital Acquires San Juan Endoscopy Center
San Juan Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce it has recently acquired the physician-owned clinic, San Juan Endoscopy Center, LLC. The clinic, located at 950 West Pinon Street in Farmington, was founded in 2007 by a group of doctors including Francisco Colon, M.D., Armando Lopez De Victoria, M.D., George L. Payne, M.D., Dwayne Gibbs, M.D. and James J. Spence, M.D. The facility will remain at its current location, but will be renamed San Juan Regional Endoscopy and will become a branch of the hospital’s current endoscopy department.
The clinic facility is a three-room operating center offering upper endoscopy and colonoscopy services. Upper endoscopy is a procedure used to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper part of the small intestine. The procedure is used to investigate a number of conditions including abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss, anemia, blood in bowel movements and others. Colonoscopy is a procedure used to examine the large intestine. The procedure employs a colonscope to identify and correct problems in the colon.
The acquisition will allow San Juan Regional Medical Center to enlarge its endoscopy department with additional staff and facilities. “San Juan Regional Medical Center is committed to remaining on the forefront of medical care by utilizing the latest treatment options and a wide array of diagnostic care. We promise to continue building on the outstanding healthcare services that patients across the Four Corners expect from us. This recent acquisition is another example of that commitment,” hospital president and CEO, Jeff Bourgeois, said.
San Juan Regional Endoscopy will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and can be reached at 505.609.6399 for appointments.
