San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital Receives Accreditation From DNV Healthcare Inc
San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital has achieved national accreditation from DNV Healthcare Inc. (DNV). This hospital accreditation program is the only one approved by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that integrates the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. DNV’s NIAHO® accreditation program requires hospitals to evaluate the continuum of patient care throughout its facilities and take measured steps to improve when it is warranted.
San Juan Regional Medical Center received national accreditation from DNV in 2013. “We are proud to have San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital join SJRMC in receiving accreditation from DNV,” says President and CEO, Rick Wallace. “This further empowers how we look upon accreditation as a strategic business tool and a mechanism to empower our staff. The program is consistent with our long-term commitment to patient safety and quality.”
DNV hospital accreditation addresses the demands of today’s hospitals that are dedicated to patient-centered care. DNV monitors the hospital’s adherence to patient safety criteria as established by CMS, but also evaluate processes that impact patient care across various departments and facilities of the hospital.
Being accredited by DNV allows San Juan Regional Medical Center to receive reimbursement for its patients covered by Medicare and Medicaid. The DNV NIAHOR accreditation program was authorized by CMS in 2008, and today DNV provides not only hospital accreditation but also Primary Stroke Center Certification.
