Monday, March 1, 2021 San Juan Health Partners Clinics Enact Limited Visitor Policy

Patients visiting San Juan Health Partners clinics are now able to bring one patient advocate with them to their appointment. This limited visitor policy aims to ensure that our patients have the help and support they need, while continuing to keep safety at the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic. The details of the new policy are as follows:

A. One patient advocate (visitor) may attend the visit with the patient.

B. Patient advocates must be

1) screened (current symptom, exposure and temperature check)

2) wear a mask (masks with exhalation valves are not permitted) and

3) sanitize hands

C. Patient advocates who

1) do not meet screening criteria

2) decline to wear a mask or

3) decline to sanitize hands will be educated on alternative methods of attending the visit with patient, such as audio and/or video applications on cell phones or tablets.

We understand the importance of patient advocates in helping patients manage their healthcare, make informed decisions, translate medical terms and navigate the medical system. Our goal in allowing one patient advocate during a visit is to help promote the healing process while also following COVID-safe practices for the health and safety of both our patients and staff.

A limited visitor policy is still in effect at San Juan Regional Medical Center, allowing one adult visitor for non-COVID patients between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. For more details on the hospital’s visitor policy, click here: https://www.sanjuanregional.com/visitation-policy.
