San Juan Health Partners Midwife Honored with National Award
San Juan Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that Anne Miller is being honored by the American College of Nurse-Midwives with the Outstanding Preceptor Award. Miller has been a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) since 1984 and has been with San Juan Health Partners Midwifery and Women’s Health, a division of San Juan Regional Medical Center, since 2009.
The Outstanding Preceptor Award honors a preceptor of student CNMs who has shown outstanding qualities for leadership and teaching, been a mentor for multiple students, and has repeatedly promoted high standards of midwifery education.
“We are very proud of Anne's accomplishments and her excellent clinical teaching,” fellow Nurse-Midwife Nichele Salazar said. “Anne was also my preceptor when I was a student at UNM and she is amazing and full of heart.”
“It was quite an honor to be nominated, let alone win national recognition,” Miller said of her award. “I feel like this preceptor award is a reflection of our entire practice at San Juan Health Partners Midwifery and Women’s Health.”
San Juan Health Partners Midwifery and Women’s Health is committed to the health of women in the Four Corners and offers a wide array of services including well-woman exams, prenatal appointments, labor and birth at San Juan Regional Medical Center and menopausal care. Our four Certified Nurse-Midwives are Registered Nurses (RNs) with advanced education in midwifery. They combine the ancient art of safely guiding women through pregnancy and birth with the technology and science of modern obstetrics and are licensed to write prescriptions.
Miller graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Nursing and Columbia University with an MS in Nurse-Midwifery. She has assisted thousands of women in birth and in women’s health at a variety of settings, including proud service of military families at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
