Friday, September 25, 2020 San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics Offering Outdoor Respiratory Clinic

As we head into cold and flu season while continuing to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics is taking extra steps to care for your children. The clinic has opened an outdoor respiratory drive-through just for kids. This will ensure that children with potentially contagious respiratory symptoms are able to get the care they need quickly and conveniently without having to go into the clinic. Providing a dedicated space for children with respiratory symptoms also reduces the chances of exposing anyone inside the pediatrics clinic.

The outdoor respiratory clinic is held Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with plans for expanded hours as flu and RSV season progresses. If your child is exhibiting respiratory symptoms, please call San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics at 505.609.6700 as you normally would to schedule an appointment. When you arrive in the parking lot of the clinic, located at 407 S. Schwartz Ave., you will call the front desk to check in and will be assigned a parking spot next to the building where your child will be seen by a medical assistant and a provider. Parents, please have your ID and insurance information with you.

Symptoms that warrant a visit to our outdoor respiratory clinic include:

·         Temperature of 100.4F or above

·         Coughing

·         Shortness of breath

·         Chills

·         Muscle pain

·         Headache

·         Sore throat

·         New loss of taste or smell

Children who have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive patient in the last two weeks, those who have been contacted by the CDC or DOH or placed under a self-quarantine for COVID-19, and those who have traveled by air in the last two weeks will also be seen through the outdoor respiratory clinic. The goal is to meet our community needs and assess our young patients away from others to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
