Saturday, January 19, 2019 San Juan Regional Medical Center Goes Live with Information Technology Transformation

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Information Technology transformation, Care Connect, has gone live. San Juan Regional Medical Center has been working with Cerner, a global leader in healthcare technology, for more than a year to prepare for the transition. The hospital implemented HealtheIntentSM, Cerner’s near real-time population health management platform designed to aggregate data from multiple sources and establish a comprehensive, unified view of an individual’s health and care experiences across the continuum of healthcare. This platform displaces more than 75 health IT applications.

Care Connect is changing the way San Juan Regional Medical Center works to provide safe and seamless health and wellness services to improve patient safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Benefits for patients include:

• A single medical record
• Built in “smart rules” to prevent errors
• Improved sharing of diagnostics and patient outcomes among caregivers
• Increased staff efficiency and patient care management with real-time clinical dashboards
• Decreased turnaround time for results management
• Increased efficiencies and cost savings
• Increased patient participation with the new patient portal

“This entire process is all about connecting to our patients and improving their experience by creating a single medical record. There are many benefits to our Care Connect transformation both for our employees and for our patients. Our patients are our highest priority and our Core Value of Sacred Trust will be our guide during this time of transition as we serve them,” said Jeff Bourgeois, SJRMC’s President and CEO.
San Juan Regional Medical Center sincerely appreciates everybody’s patience during this time of transition and looks forward to sharing the benefits of the new system.
