San Juan Regional Medical Center Volunteer Services Manager President of the New Mexico Hospital Association Auxiliary Board
San Juan Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Teresa Becker, Manager of Volunteer Services, has been appointed as President of the New Mexico Hospital Association’s Auxiliary Board.
Teresa has been at San Juan Regional Medical Center for 37 years, serving as the Volunteer Services Manager for the last 19. In her role, she oversees the hospital’s robust volunteer program, our Gift Market, which is run by volunteers, as well as the employees and volunteers at the Information Desk. This has been especially busy during the pandemic with the additional screening requirements and strict visitation policy, as the Information Desk served the important role as gatekeeper to keep our patients, visitors and staff safe.
Teresa has a passion to help people and a strong customer service background. She has a degree in Business Administration and has been a Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services since 2008. She has served on the New Mexico Hospital Association (NMHA) Auxiliary Board several times during her career in Volunteer Services; however, this will be her first time serving as president.
“I have met many wonderful people across the state at the annual conferences and I am privileged to know them,” Teresa said. “I look forward to working together with our Auxiliaries across the state to showcase the amazing things our volunteers do every day to further the mission of our community hospitals.”

In addition to Teresa’s role on the Board, San Juan Regional Medical Center volunteer Deb Tillman, a longtime SJRMC employee who is now retired, will serve as president elect. Deb Dumont, another longtime SJRMC employee and volunteer, will serve as secretary.
Thirteen individual hospital Auxiliary/Volunteer Service organizations representing more than 700 volunteers currently participate in NMHA's statewide program. NMHA works to develop educational, networking and honorific opportunities in support of these inspiring members and their work.
