Monday, February 26, 2024 San Juan Regional Medical Center Welcomes Chief Information Officer

San Juan Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that John Gaede, ThM, CPHIMS, MLS (ASCP), will join the leadership team at San Juan Regional Medical Center as Chief Information Officer.

Gaede is an executive leader in Healthcare Informatics with 23 years of professional experience in information services/technology; analyzing, selecting, implementing, and optimizing hospital information systems and workflows in both community and academic healthcare delivery systems. He comes to San Juan Regional Medical Center from Sky Lakes Medical Center in the southern Oregon/northern California area, where he served as Director of Information Systems since 2015.   

“Information technology is an integral part of healthcare,” said Jason Rounds, President and CEO of San Juan Regional Medical Center. “John’s proven leadership and expertise will enable us to better serve our mission and vision, improving the care we provide to our patients and community. We welcome him to San Juan Regional Medical Center.”   

Gaede holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, and a B.S. in Medical Technology from Kansas University in Kansas City. He has over nine years’ clinical experience in laboratory medical technology, working as a Registered Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). Gaede has a Master of Theology (ThM) from Dallas Theological Seminary, is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. 

Gaede has been married for 32 years and has six children. His interests include spending time with his family, teaching God’s word, off road and outdoor activities, exercising and woodworking. He joins the leadership team beginning Monday, February 26, and looks forward to providing strategic leadership in improving quality, safety, efficiency and reducing healthcare disparities through collaborative approaches to clinical, financial, and technical healthcare information services/systems.
