Friday, May 3, 2019 San Juan Regional Medical Center’s AirCare Services Awarded Accreditation

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s AirCare air ambulance service has been reaccredited through 2021 by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). CAMTS accreditation helps ensure the highest safety and customer care standards through a rigorous audit process.

The reaccreditation process, which San Juan Regional Medical Center goes through voluntarily every three years, ensures that AirCare continually raises the bar for safety and the delivery of critical patient care, continuously improving processes to meet national standards. Criteria for reaccreditation include training and education, aircraft maintenance, and staff and pilot qualifications.

“These standards aren’t just something that AirCare focuses on once every three years when it’s time for accreditation. Our team maintains these standards daily in order to provide safe, high quality care for the patients we serve,” AirCare Manager, Mike Berve, said.

AirCare’s air ambulance service includes a fixed-wing plane and a helicopter. Both are available 24 hours a day to provide emergency transport for critically ill and injured patients in the Four Corners. AirCare has been accredited since 1995.
