Thursday, August 29, 2013 Stretch, your Spine Will Love It!
Your spine has many nerves, muscles and ligaments that serve as connections to areas throughout your body, so keeping your back in top condition is one of the best things you can do for both your back and your overall health.

Building a healthy back requires time and commitment. Using safe body mechanics at home and work, regular exercise, and a healthy lifestyle will help you reach your goal of a healthy stronger, more flexible back. Here are some tips and exercises to help you obtain your goal!

To strengthen your back use these Healthy Back Exercises:

• Partial sit-up: With bent knees, slowly raise your head and shoulders off the floor and hold for three minutes. Do not strain your neck.

• Wall slides: With your back against the wall, slide toe a sitting position for three minutes.

• Knee-to-chest-raise: Lie down and slowly pull knees to chest, relaxing your neck and back. Repeat 10 times.

• Press-up: Lie down on stomach with hands near shoulder and pelvis on the floor then press up painlessly, hold and repeat 10 times.
