Pedaling for a Cure: Texas 4000 Visits San Juan Regional Medical Center and San Juan Medical Foundation
A group of student leaders from The University of Texas at Austin is on a life-changing and life-saving journey that will bring them to Farmington next week. Texas 4000 will once again visit San Juan Regional Cancer Center and the San Juan Medical Foundation on Wednesday, June 14 to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. The community is invited to come out to the San Juan Medical Foundation to support the team and hear their inspirational messages.
Texas 4000 is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world, with student leaders pedaling more than 4,500 miles from Austin to Alaska to engage communities in the fight against cancer. That’s over twice as long as the Tour de France! Along the way, they share the pillars of HOPE, KNOWLEDGE and CHARITY to cancer patients. Since Texas 4000 was founded in 2003, riders have proudly raised more than $7.2 million for cancer research, treatment and prevention. In fact, last year, the Connelly Hospitality House received $20,000 from Texas 4000 to support its mission to provide housing for families of cancer patients.
San Juan Regional Medical Center and the San Juan Medical Foundation are proud to support Texas 4000’s extraordinary efforts on this journey fighting cancer every mile.
The San Juan Regional Cancer Center, a part of San Juan Regional Medical Center, has been providing compassionate and quality care to cancer patients in the greater Four Corners area for over a decade. Personalized patient care includes state-of-the art treatment; a Cancer Navigator to help patients cope with the physical, emotional and financial stress; support groups for patients, families and caregivers; and the Connolly Hospitality House. The San Juan Medical Foundation works continuously to ensure that funds are available to keep this important facility up and running for those who need it.
