Tuesday, August 4, 2015 Rehabilitation Hospital Celebrates the Completion of its Healing Garden
San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital celebrates its newly completed Healing Garden. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Since its original opening in 1989, there have been thousands of people who have been effectively treated with specialized care. San Juan Regional Medical Center welcomes previous patients and the community to attend the event. There will be facility tours, refreshments will be offered, and the hospital will be thanking donors for their generosity.

The Healing Garden at San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is designed to improve care and create a more comfortable, homier feel as well as an opportunity to practice mobility skills in a more natural environment. For people who are in rehabilitation, just walking in a garden may be therapeutic. The sights, smells, and sounds of the garden are said to promote relaxation and reduce stress. The design of the Healing Garden plans were results from staff input and contributed to a more healing environment for patients.

San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is committed to helping members of the community who are experiencing physical, communication, or thought related difficulties to reach their highest level of ability to live, work, and play in a healthy and safe environment. The rehabilitation hospital is also home to a certified therapeutic pool for aqua therapy, staff to assist with all functions, and specialized equipment such as the LiteGait, which helps patients regain their ability to walk sooner.
