Preventing Infections
The safety of our patients is our number one priority. When they’re in the hospital and have weakened immune systems, they can be more susceptible to infection. As visitors, we ask that you do everything you can to prevent the spread of germs and infections. The most important thing you can do is to wash your hands.
Ensuring the Highest Levels of Cleanliness
We have added the Tru-D iQ system to our already stringent list of disinfection protocols to ensure the cleanest environment possible for our patients. This disinfection robot takes disinfection to the next level with intuitive, smart technology that provides thorough room disinfection in as little as five minutes. This advanced technology is an added layer of defense against microorganisms, complimenting the work of our Environmental Services staff who will still thoroughly clean each room.
Please take precautions
If a loved one you’re visiting does have an infection that requires special precautions, we ask that you take the following steps when visiting them:
• It is our recommendation children under the age of 12 not visit or remain outside of the room with adult supervision. Protective gowns and gloves do not fit small children. Due to sink height, small children are unable to perform proper hand hygiene, putting them at an increased risk for infection.
• Visitors must clean their hands, and then put on protective gowns and gloves when they enter the room and remove them upon leaving the room.
• Visitors must wash their hands with soap and water after removing protective clothing and prior to leaving the room.
• Visitors should limit items taken into the room and should not eat or drink in the room during their visit.
• Visitors should not use the patient’s bathroom. There are public restrooms available on the unit.
• If any family members or visitors are ill, please do not visit until they are better.
