This course for parents covers all the basics about bringing home a new baby with a sibling at home. Topics include when and how to discuss pregnancy and how to involve the older child/children at various age levels in appropriate ways. It covers topics like jealousy, behavior regression, and providing extra love and support to your older child/children and relying on your support system for help. It also discusses some of the preparation steps that can be taken to get ready for your growing family.
This class covers all the essentials parents need to know about Shaken Baby Syndrome. It covers how and why SBS happens and how to prevent it. It includes important strategies to deal with excessive crying and how to protect babies from SBS. This critical topic is covered in all offered courses that discuss newborn care and safety. It can be taken during the scheduled monthly time or by appointment by emailing Kathy Coleman at kcoleman@sjrmc.net
This class is meant for grandparents of all ages and stages to take and see what has changed since they raised their children. Topics to be addressed will include newborn care refreshers, car seat updates, safe sleep practices, supporting breastfeeding, ways to offer support to your children and lots more. It is also an ideal opportunity to ask questions and relieve any concerns you have.
