San Juan Regional Medical Center is the New Mexico Hospital Association’s Quest for Excellence award winner. We were honored as Top Overall Hospital for our process improvement Kaizen “Accelerating Cardiac Care: Implementing Point-of-Care Troponin Testing for Rapid Results." The Quest for Excellence Awards represent the highest level of professional acknowledgement from the New Mexico Hospital Association’s Quality Committee. We celebrate the remarkable achievements of our team in achieving a Troponin testing turnaround time of less than 60 minutes, allowing us to provide earlier interventions and better care for chest pain patients.

Honored for Heart Attack Care
San Juan Regional Medical Center has received the 2024 American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold achievement award. As part of an elite group of prehospital providers, our EMS first responders are committed to implementing a higher standard of rapid, research-based care to people experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes, ultimately saving lives.
Mission: Lifeline® is the American Heart Association's national initiative to reduce barriers to prompt treatment starting from when 911 is called, to EMS transport and continuing through hospital treatment and discharge.

Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has recognized San Juan Regional Medical Center and its world class providers and care teams once again for demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. San Juan Regional Medical Center was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI through 2025, the only Four Corners area hospital to achieve this designation.
Hospitals that have earned Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms and have primary PCI available 24/7 every day of the year. This ensures that patients experiencing an acute heart attack receive rapid treatment in the cardiac cath lab to minimize damage to the heart muscle.

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s onsite childcare center, Children’s Discovery Place, has earned reaccreditation through 2029 from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. NAEYC Accreditation ensures that programs are safe, well prepared, and intentional about ensuring children's success.

AirCare Services Awarded Accreditation
San Juan Regional Medical Center’s AirCare air ambulance service has been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). CAMTS accreditation helps ensure the highest safety and customer care standards through a rigorous audit process.
The reaccreditation process, which San Juan Regional Medical Center goes through voluntarily every three years, ensures that AirCare continually raises the bar for safety and the delivery of critical patient care, continuously improving processes to meet national standards. Criteria for reaccreditation include training and education, aircraft maintenance, and staff and pilot qualifications.
