The Auxiliary of San Juan Regional Medical Center is committed to helping hospital departments by providing compassionate, well-trained and resourceful individuals who deliver quality care and customer satisfaction. The Auxiliary was established in 1952 as a service organization. It sponsors the Gift Market, teenage volunteer program for those 14 years of age and older, and events to raise funds for patient care, equipment and educational assistance for those interested in a medical profession.
Our Volunteers are Stars
One of our longtime volunteers was selected as 2024 Outstanding Auxilian of the Year by the New Mexico Hospital Association’s Auxiliary for the compassionate care she provides. Ann Merrick, a 20-year Spiritual Care Volunteer at San Juan Regional Medical Center, has spent thousands of hours volunteering, either on call for the Emergency Department, or coming into the Emergency Department at all hours to meet with patients and families and attend to their spiritual care needs. Ann always has a smile and words of encouragement for everyone she encounters. She is one of the most humble, loving and dedicated people you will ever meet.
